‘Iced tea’ is called ‘sweet tea’ in a lot of the U.S., particularly in the south. I drink this almost every day. In Canada it is called iced tea. I prefer iced tea to coffee.
Yields: 6 tall glasses, or 8 cups
Costs: Approximately $0.35 per serving
1 cup hot water from the kettle
3 decaf orange pekoe tea bags
7 cups cold water
The freshly squeezed juice from 1 or 2 lemons (1/4 to 1/3 cup)
1 cup Splenda
- Steep the tea bags in one cup hot water from the kettle.
- Meanwhile, pour 7 cups cold water into a large pitcher.
- Stir in the lemon juice.
- Add the brewed tea.
- Add enough Splenda to get the flavor that you prefer.
- Serve right away, in tall decorative glasses, with lots of ice.
