‘Iced tea’ is called ‘sweet tea’ in a lot of the U.S., particularly in the south. I drink this almost every day. In Canada it is called iced tea. I prefer iced tea to coffee.

Yields: 6 tall glasses, or 8 cups
Costs: Approximately $0.35 per serving

1 cup hot water from the kettle
3 decaf orange pekoe tea bags
7 cups cold water
The freshly squeezed juice from 1 or 2 lemons (1/4 to 1/3 cup)
1 cup Splenda

  1. Steep the tea bags in one cup hot water from the kettle.
  2. Meanwhile, pour 7 cups cold water into a large pitcher.
  3. Stir in the lemon juice.
  4. Add the brewed tea.
  5. Add enough Splenda to get the flavor that you prefer.
  6. Serve right away, in tall decorative glasses, with lots of ice.
