• Serves: 1 serving
  • Costs: Approximately $0:70

  • 1 large egg
  • 1 slice whole grain bread, toasted
  • 1 teaspoon buttery spread made with olive oil
  • Salt to desired tastes

  1. Place the egg into a small, covered saucepan, with enough cold water to barely cover. Bring to boil over a moderate temperature, and then cook for 8 minutes. Transfer the egg to a bowl of cold water to allow it to cool to just enough to handle. Remove the shell.

  1. Butter a piece of toast. Place the egg onto the bottom half of the toast. Slice the egg vertically, and then fan out the slices to cover the bottom half end of the toast. Sprinkle the egg with salt. Fold the top-end of the toast over the egg to form a sandwich.
