• Serves: 1 serving
  • Costs: Approximately $0:70
  • 1 large egg, hard boiled
  • 1 slice whole grain bread, toasted or untoasted
  • 1 teaspoon non-hydrogenated margarine or butter
  • Salt to desired tastes
  1. Place the egg into a small, covered saucepan, with enough cold water to barely cover. Bring to boil over a moderate temperature, and then cook for 8 minutes. Transfer the egg to a bowl of cold water to allow it to cool to just enough to handle. Remove the shell.

  1. Place the egg onto the bottom half of a slice of buttered bread or toast. Slice the egg vertically and then fan out the layers horizontally. Sprinkle the egg with salt. Fold the other half-end of the toast over the egg to form a sandwich.
